Continue north along South Ocean Blvd. (A1A) and you’ll
come to 1100 South Ocean Blvd. This is Donald Trumps, Mar-a-Lago
Club, built in 1927 for Post Cereal heiress and General Foods
Corp. founder Marjorie Merriweather Post. Trump purchased the
$10 million property in 1985. The 55,700 square ft. house sits
on 17 acres of land. Trump turned the mansion into a private club,
with an invitation fee of only $50,000. Trump and his 3rd wife,
Slovenian supermodel Melania Knauss, had their wedding reception
in the new ballroom. The house has 58 bedrooms, 33 bathrooms,
three bomb shelters, a theatre and a nine-hole golf course. Keep
traveling north until you reach 720 South Ocean Blvd. This is
where the former John Lennon home is. John Lennon and Yoko Ono
paid $725,000 for this 9,500 square ft. home in 1980, shortly
before Lennon’s death.
A short distance north and you’ll arrive at 540 South Ocean
Blvd. This is where Margaritaville’s Parrothead Jimmy Buffett
resides. Buffett bought this house for a cool 4.4 million in 1994.
Buffett lives true to his reputation, by living that laid back
style, aren’t you jealous!

If
you travel north about 3 streets, you’ll see the internationally
known Worth Avenue. Here you can park your car, or just
drive down the street, looking at the 200 plus shops. You’ll
see big names like Channel, Gucci, Saks 5th Avenue, Ralph
Lauren and more. There are some neat places that you won’t
want to miss, but you’ll have to get out of your car
to see them. There are hidden shops all through the little
Vias and beautiful courtyards. While strolling down the
Avenue, you might even catch a glimpse of someone famous.
If you’re hungry or thirsty, there are a few places
to eat... Try Taboo at 221 Worth Ave.
If you continue north along the ocean, you’ll come
to a sharp turn in the road. On your immediate right at
126 South Ocean Blvd. is the late cosmetic queen, Estee
Lauder’s home with the large gate outside.
Make a right turn onto South County Rd and you’ll
see on your right, Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.
Donald Trump and Melania Knauss were married here in January
2006.

Just
a hop skip and a jump to the north and you’ll see the
Breakers Hotel, located at 1 South County Rd. on your right.
This is the third Breakers Hotel, the first having burned down
in 1903 and second in 1925. Rooms at this hotel start at $470
a night during the winter season.
Continue
north until you see St. Edwards Church on your left, located
at 165 North County Rd. This Catholic Church is where the Kennedy’s
attended Mass. There is a
little plaque designating the pew where JFK used to kneel.
Keep going north until you reach 513 North County Rd. Donald
Trump bought this 81,738 square ft. mansion in 2004 and plans
to resell it for more than $100 million. Apprentice Television
series winner Kendra Todd worked on this property after winning
on the Apprentice.
If you travel approximately 2 miles to the north, you’ll
come to 1095 North Ocean Blvd. This 9,300 square ft. home was
bought by Joseph Kennedy in 1933 and was known as the winter
White House when John F. Kennedy was President.
Keep
traveling north until you reach 1495 North Ocean Blvd. This is
home to radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh bought this
mansion in 2000 for 5.2 million.
A little bit to the north, and you’ll find yourself at the
end of the island. Here you’ll see the Palm Beach Inlet,
beautiful Peanut Island, the Port of Palm Beach and Singer
Island across the way.
Make your way back south one street, turn right onto Indian Rd.,
then make your next left onto Northlake Way. Continue south approximately
4 miles and you’ll find Henry Flagler’s Museum on
your right, located at 1 Whitehall Way. The museum is located
¼ mile south of the Flagler Bridge on Cocoanut Row. (Northlake
Way turns into Cocoanut Row, don’t worry your not lost yet).
To get back to I-95, travel south 1 mile from Henry Flagler’s
Museum and you’ll come to Royal Palm Way. Go east over the
bridge and you’ll run into I-95 approximately 2 miles. I
hope you enjoyed your tour!
